One of Hakodate's three major fireworks festivals, held annually on the day before Marine Day in Hakodate, Hokkaido. A historic event that began in 1997 to commemorate the newspaper's first issue and the establishment of Marine Day. The main venue spans approximately 600 meters from Toyokawa Wharf to the quay in front of the Seikan Ferry Memorial Ship Mashu Maru, with fireworks launched from Midori-no-shima (Green Island) in Hakodate Port. Each year, approximately 50,000 people gather around the venue, bringing the port town to life as spectators enjoy the ocean breeze.
