The 80th edition in 2026 of Muroran's summer evening fireworks display in Hokkaido. On the first night of the Port Festival held Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26, a total of 2,200 shells color the sky of Muroran, creating a magical scene against the port's night view. The festival showcases local traditional culture. In 'Muroran Nerikomi,' participating groups parade through town carrying elaborately decorated mikoshi and floats. The citizens' dance, with approximately 500 participants (2025 actual) parading to Muroran-bayashi, is also a highlight. 'Yosakoi Soran in Muroran' brings together teams from across Hokkaido, especially yosakoi groups from the Iburi region, heating up the venue. Other stage events including shows and games round out the festivities, bringing the community together.
