Chinese fireworks and underwater shells are among the effects only a marine setting allows, and the light mirrored on the sea is a treat in itself. Attendance reached about 10,000 in 2025. The Port Bazaar opens from midday, with rows of stalls lending the harbor a festival bustle — festival standards alongside Hiroo specialties like grilled kelp greenling (hokke) and turban shells. From JR Obihiro Station, take the bus for about 120 minutes and walk 25 minutes from Namiki-dori 2-chome; by car it is about 40 minutes from the Obihiro-Hirodo Churui-Taiki IC via Route 236. Traffic restrictions begin around the venue at 11 a.m., so arrive early. Parking for 2,500 cars is free.
