Approximately 2,800 fireworks light up the finale of this summer festival held annually in August in Taiki Town, Hiroo District, Hokkaido. The festival was launched to commemorate the Rekifune River, which flows through Taiki Town, being recognized by the Ministry of the Environment as 'Japan's cleanest river.' The festival begins at 11:00 AM with various events on the riverbed including stage shows and raffles. There are also booths for children such as gold panning and fishing experiences, along with food stalls where you can enjoy festival cuisine. At the 'Perupune Fire Festival' starting at 6:00 PM, the sight of giant torches blazing is magical and creates a unique atmosphere.
