A fireworks festival held annually during the Bon season in Mikasa, Hokkaido. At this festival, the Mikasa specialty Hokkai Bon Odori is performed around a massive roughly 8-meter-tall raised platform. The cool evening fireworks show features approximately 300 shells, including star mines and set-piece fireworks, lighting up the night sky. Mikasa's Bon Odori is an intangible cultural property registered as a Hokkaido Heritage, a dance deeply rooted in local tradition. Numerous food stalls line the venue, adding to the festive atmosphere. In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed to the following day, Sunday the 16th.
