Held after the traditional Bon (August Bon) when the first hints of autumn can be felt, it is cherished as Hakodate's cool evening festival. Launched from the mouth of the Matsukura River where it flows into the sea, visitors can enjoy the spectacle of fireworks simultaneously coloring the sea, river, and hot spring town.
