Higashimatsushima Naruse Toro Nagashi Fireworks Festival

Summary

A fireworks festival held in Higashimatsushima City, Miyagi Prefecture. A traditional summer festival in the Ono area of Higashimatsushima City, once passed down as a traditional Obon send-off event by local youth organizations. After the Great East Japan Earthquake, it has been held to honor the memory of the many tsunami victims and support reconstruction efforts. Fireworks are launched from the middle embankment between the Naruse River and Yoshida River flowing in parallel, creating a magical scene as the lights reflect on the calm water.
