Summary

Tohoku Future Art Fireworks was first held in 2022 in Watari Town, Miyagi Prefecture, which suffered major damage from the Great East Japan Earthquake, with hopes for Tohoku's recovery and future. The 5th edition has been confirmed for Sunday, September 13, 2026. It is one of the 'Art Fireworks' series—Japan's premier fireworks entertainment that synchronizes traditional Japanese fireworks with music, produced by 'GREAT SKY ART,' which attracted significant attention at the 2025 Montreal International Fireworks Competition. At Tori-no-umi Park in Miyagi Prefecture, built as a symbol of earthquake recovery, Japan's top pyrotechnicians and fireworks choreographers have continued to depict 'Tohoku's future illuminated by fireworks' through music-synchronized performances.
