The Kyowa Tanabata Fireworks illuminate the Tanabata night in Daisen City, Akita Prefecture, a renowned fireworks destination. The event began over 30 years ago when local volunteers each contributed 10 shells to the revived Tenno Festival. A rare nationwide women's fireworks artisans' competition features unique, story-driven fireworks, delighting audiences with new programming each year. The grand starmine and set-piece fireworks, which can only be seen at three locations in Akita Prefecture (Noshiro Fireworks, Masuda Fireworks, and Kyowa Tanabata Fireworks), are a spectacular sight.
