Summary

The oldest fireworks festival in Yamagata Prefecture, held in Oe Town. The fireworks launched right before the spectators' eyes are so powerful that you might feel the sparks are about to reach you. The theme for 2026 is 'Kodo' (Heartbeat). Along with the excitement of sporting events held this year, including the Winter Olympics, it embodies the passionate 'heartbeat' brought by sports and a wish for peace and harmony across borders. Various events are held daily leading up to the fireworks display on August 15. *Please check the official website for event details.
