Summary

Taking a new step forward in 2026, the 1st Soma Fireworks Display is a reborn independent event succeeding the fireworks display from the 'Hama Matsuri,' which was revived 8 years after the Great East Japan Earthquake. The venue is Matsukawaura New Fishing Port in Soma City, Fukushima, one of Japan's Top 100 Scenic Views. The fireworks are launched by Ito Fireworks, a Fukushima-based fireworks company with over 150 years of history. Since the Great East Japan Earthquake, they have continued launching fireworks along the Hamadori coastal region with wishes for recovery, and in 2025, they launched recovery-themed fireworks at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. Rooted in the community and moving with the times, they continue to convey heartfelt messages through fireworks.
