Summary

The Kashima City Fireworks Festival is held annually on the shores of Lake Kitaura in Kashima City, Ibaraki Prefecture. In 2026, the festival marks a special milestone commemorating the Shikinen Taisai Mifune Matsuri, taking place on Saturday, July 4. Approximately 10,000 shells will be launched over about 60 minutes starting at 7:30 PM from Lake Kitaura in the Ofunatsu area. As one of the largest fireworks displays in the region, the festival offers stunning views of fireworks reflecting off the waters of Lake Kitaura and lighting up the night sky. In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed to the following day, Sunday, July 5. Traffic restrictions will be in effect around the venue on the day of the event, so the use of public transportation is recommended.
