About 3,400 shells fire between 19:10 and 19:40. Earlier in the day, a portable-shrine parade winds through the town of Hasaki alongside the 'Nami Fes' music festival, and free fish-paste soup is handed out. From Choshi Station, take a bus to the Hasaki-Kaisuiyokujo stop, which is right by the venue. Free parking is provided for 2,100 cars, but with about 45,000 visitors expected the beachfront routes crowd up from late afternoon — pick your spot on the sand early and keep clear of the water's edge.
