The Ashikaga Fireworks Festival was founded in 1903 (Meiji 36) and celebrates its 123rd year and 110th edition in 2026. With a long tradition and history, this event held in the city center is known as one of the premier fireworks festivals in the Kanto region, drawing large crowds from across the area each year and making it Ashikaga's most vibrant day. Approx. 20,000 shells are planned to be launched, with simultaneous large-shell launches and wide star mines illuminating the night sky. The climactic "Great Niagara" is especially spectacular. Additionally, the Young Young Summer Festival will be held on July 30 (Thu) and July 31 (Fri) as pre-festival events.
