Summary

The Niisato Festival is a major summer event held annually on August 15 in Niisato Town, Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture, reaching its 42nd edition in 2026. The festival finale features approx. 2,000 shells launched into the sky. A diverse program allows visitors to enjoy local traditions and culture, including goldfish scooping, mini train rides, firefighting and disaster prevention experiences, and an ice sculpture demonstration by Chef Daisuke Harada. In the evening, a talk & live performance by "One Cushion," taiko drum performances, and Yagibushi folk dancing can be enjoyed. At night, an entertainment live show is held, filling the venue with excitement. Access to the venue is approx. 2.5 km from Jomo Electric Railway Niikawa Station, with free temporary buses running from near Niikawa Station and Niisato Station. In case of rain, some programs will be held at Niisato Community Gymnasium.
