Summary

Moominvalley Park in Hanno, Saitama stages its lake-top fireworks on multiple summer dates, starting July 20. As the park's original songs play, bursts rise in unison from the water and light up the night lake. The show runs about five minutes from 19:30 — short but dense — with a special version on 'Moomin Day', August 9. METSÅ is 13 minutes by bus from Hanno Station, and the park has its own parking.

Overview

The display is a five-minute burst of choreography over the lake, synced to the park's original songs, with every flash doubling on the water. It recurs across several dates from July 20 into August, and August 9 — Moomin Day — gets the special version. Reach the park by bus from Seibu Hanno Station (about 13 minutes to the METSÅ stop), or by car via the Sayama-Hidaka IC (about 12 minutes), using the 1,100-car paid lot. Because the show is so short, be standing at the lakeside a good 30–45 minutes before the first launch.

Info for International Visitors

Best arrival time

The show runs about 5 minutes from 19:30. Have your spot in the lake-viewing area secured 30–45 minutes beforehand. If you are enjoying the park from midday, moving down to the lakeside once in the late afternoon keeps things smooth. It is about 13 minutes by bus from Hanno Station.

With kids

A venue that families who love the Moomin stories will feel at home in. The lakeside is hard to see underfoot after dark, so choose bright clothing and sturdy shoes. In the busiest hours, agree on a meeting point.

Photography tips

Include the fireworks reflected on the lake and you get the signature lake-top shot. With only about 5 minutes of show, settle your camera settings before it starts.

Payment

The event takes place inside the park, so check admission and viewing conditions on the official website. The lot holds 1,100 standard cars: 1,000 yen per day on weekdays (first 2 hours free), 1,500 yen per day on weekends and holidays.
