Summary

Saitama's Misato and Chiba's Nagareyama fire simultaneously from opposite banks of the Edogawa River on October 3, 2026, creating one continuous skyline of light watchable from either side. The Misato side keeps things deliberately exclusive: every seat is reserved, capped at 7,000 spectators, priced 2,200–3,300 yen, with music-led programming running about 45 minutes from 18:00. A rare chance to enjoy a large-scale show without the usual blanket-and-tarp scramble.

Overview

The site sits on the Edogawa riverbed around the municipal ground, 10 minutes on foot from JR Misato's south exit, with gates at 16:30, a 17:45 ceremony and launches from 18:00 (ending around 18:45). Buy tickets at FamilyMart or online—nothing is sold at the gate, and the organizers provide no general parking at all, so trains are the only sane option. What sets this event apart is transparency about weather: organizers publish numeric criteria (forecast precipitation of 1mm or less means proceed, 2mm or more means cancel), decided in consultation with Nagareyama across the river, and there is no postponement if cancelled. Because both cities launch simultaneously, every burst is doubled in the river's reflection. The event is run by the Misato chamber of commerce's youth division, the same volunteer generation behind much of the city's festival calendar.

FAQ

Access

🚃 By Train

10 min walk from JR Misato Station South Exit

Info for International Visitors

Rain policy

Light rain proceeds; cancellation if forecast precipitation reaches 2mm (1mm or less is held), decided with Nagareyama city. No postponement if cancelled.

Best arrival time

Aim to arrive 1.5–2 hours before the fireworks begin. Viewing space along the Edogawa riverbed fills early and the walking routes from Misato Station's south exit get crowded — come by train, as there is no parking.

Tickets & seats

All seats reserved and capped at 7,000; north/central/south sections at 2,200–3,300 yen via FamilyMart or online. No gate sales.

Best viewing spots

Viewing runs along the Edogawa riverbed near the municipal grounds, about a 10-minute walk from JR Misato Station's south exit. With both banks launching simultaneously, secure a riverside vantage early to catch the fireworks doubled in the water.

With kids

Pick a spot away from the water's edge and keep children within sight. With large crowds it is easy to get separated, so agree on a meeting point beforehand.

Photography tips

Phone and camera photos are fine, but tripods and monopods may be restricted in paid seating — check with staff first. Fireworks from both banks are mirrored on the river, so keeping the water in the lower frame captures the double reflection too.

Payment

All viewing is paid, reserved seating, so buy tickets in advance — there are no same-day sales at the venue. Purchase via FamilyMart or online.
