Kawaguchi once developed as a manufacturing town centered on casting (imono). From 1952, the "Arakawa Noryo Fireworks Festival" was held in Kawaguchi for eight years but ended in 1959. Sixty years later, in 2019, it was revived as the "Kawaguchi Fireworks Festival." The venue is Arakawa Sports Park on the Arakawa riverbed. There are two types of paid seating: "Garden Chair Seats (Area A)" and "Embankment Sheet Seats (Area B)." A free area is also available west of the "Ukima Golf Gate" (along the embankment), and spot-saving is allowed from 12:00 on the day. Entry restrictions may be enforced in the free area for safety, and it becomes very crowded after 17:00, so early arrival is recommended.
