The Kamogawa Citizens' Fireworks Festival, held on Maehara-Yokosuka Beach in Kamogawa City, Chiba Prefecture, is an annual summer tradition where approximately 3,000 shells are launched from a beautiful beach selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Beaches. Large shells (shakudama) and other fireworks bloom brilliantly in the night sky, creating a magical spectacle against the backdrop of the ocean. The venue, Maehara-Yokosuka Beach, features a promenade called the "Seaside Promenade" that takes advantage of the roughly 1-kilometer curving coastline, allowing visitors to enjoy the fireworks from anywhere along the shore. Public transit access is excellent, with a convenient 5-minute walk from JR Awa-Kamogawa Station. Food stalls line the area, and you can enjoy the harmony of fireworks and sea breeze in a lively summer atmosphere.
