Between 19:30 and 20:00, about 2,500 shells leave the sand of the Katagai central beach, spreading over the sky to the sound of the surf. Facing the open Pacific, the venue lets viewers spread out along a broad stretch of beach. Take the Kujukuri Railway bus from JR Togane Station (about 25 minutes) and walk 10 minutes from the Nishinoshita stop, or drive in via National Route 126 from the Chiba-Togane Road or Ken-O Expressway (about 10 minutes). Free parking covers 1,200 cars, but summer-weekend traffic builds early, and many food stalls set up on site.
