After dusk, some 150 shells rise over Kominato fishing port, blending with the harbor lights and the sound of waves to color the summer night. Viewing is free-seating: pick a spot on the sand, Ura swimming beach included. The venue is a 17-minute walk from JR Awa-Kominato Station, or about 70 minutes by car from Kimitsu IC on the Tateyama Expressway, with a free 130-space lot near the station.
