The 105th Hakone Gora Onsen 'Daimonji-yaki'

Summary

A Bon festival send-off fire to console the spirits of the departed, both related and unrelated, held since 1921 (Taisho 10) in Hakone Town, Kanagawa Prefecture. Anyone can apply for memorial services until 3:00 PM on August 16 (Sun), 2026. A fireworks display of 2,000 shells along with set-piece fireworks such as the Niagara will be held simultaneously with the Daimonji-yaki burning. A Bon dance featuring the Gora Ondo is also planned from 4:00 PM until the lighting of the Daimonji-yaki. Please note that there will be traffic restrictions in some areas around the station.
