Summary

A whole-town festival marking Ebina's 55th year of cityhood: on November 15, Ebina Athletic Park hosts community booths and stage programs from 9:30 to 18:30, closing with 30 minutes of fireworks - about 5,000 shells - from 17:30. Food stalls run all day and paid viewing seats are offered. A free shuttle covers the roughly 20 minutes from Ebina Station, or it is a 20-minute walk from Atsugi Station; no parking is provided, so trains are the way.

Overview

Ebina Athletic Park spreads across the Sagami Plain, and festival day traditionally fills it with community booths and stage acts meant to show off the city's energy; 2024 attendance was officially counted around 160,000. Because fireworks are watched from within the park's grounds, spectator density stays lower than at street-locked city festivals - a relaxed, family-heavy mood. Shuttles run from both Ebina Station and the city hall, JR Shako Station is a 15-minute walk, and Atsugi Station keeps the route train-only simple. The surge toward the stations right after the finale is heavy; leaving a beat late, or walking to Atsugi instead, moves faster. The city adds program details as they are decided, so re-check the official page closer to the day. The ginkgo-lined Ichishiki-dori and Sagami riverside pair well with the ride home.

FAQ

Access

🚃 By Train

Info for International Visitors

Best arrival time

The fireworks start at 5:30 pm — aim to arrive 1.5–2 hours before the start, as the park's lawn areas fill up early. There is no parking guidance for the venue, so plan to come by public transport.

Best viewing spots

The fireworks are viewed from inside the park itself, so crowds are less dense than at typical urban venues. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly — secure a clear spot inside the park early.

With kids

The park gets very busy on festival day. Children can get separated easily — agree on a meeting point in advance, hold hands at busy times, and keep children within sight.

Photography tips

Phone and camera photos are fine, but tripods and monopods may be restricted in paid seating — check with staff first. Deciding your framing before the show starts makes for more relaxed shooting.

Payment

Buy paid seats in advance where possible. Food stalls generally take cash, so carry plenty of small bills and coins.
