Summary
A fireworks display held on the first day of the two-day 'Kawaguchi Festival' in Higashi-Kawaguchi, Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. Approximately 3,000 shells launched at the confluence of the great Shinano River and the clear Uono River color the summer night sky. The large-scale music star mine is particularly not to be missed. In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed to Sunday, July 26, 2026. Other events include a gallant 'Musha Gyoretsu' (warrior parade) by local junior high school students and a gorgeous 'Onna Mikoshi' (women's portable shrine), held over the two days. In addition, the 'Furusato Yatai' (hometown food stalls) will feature a gathering of local gourmet foods and food trucks. A children's festival fair is also held, making it enjoyable for families.
