The 'Sanjo Summer Festival' held in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture, traces its roots to the 'Sanjo Hardware Festival' held in 1952 (Showa 27) when local hardware merchants invited their customers. The grand fireworks festival marks the finale on the second day. Approximately 4,000 shells, including spectacular starmines, rapid-fire shakudama, and Niagara falls, color the summer night sky. From the designated spectator area at Rokunocho Riverside Green Space, you can enjoy both the fireworks bursting overhead and the Niagara cascading across the river surface.
