From 20:00 on August 29, about 4,000 shells fire over the harbor for an hour. Held after the island's other summer festivals have wound down, it closes out summer on Sado. The venue sits inside the harbor, a 3-minute walk from the ferry terminal, and about 60 minutes by car from Ryotsu Port. Free parking covers 1,000 cars, though the harbor area gets busy on the day, so allow time to arrive. Those island-hopping by bus and car from Ryotsu should check final departures too.
