Overview

Its history reaches back to the Taisho era, and it opens the Fuji Five Lakes fireworks season named by the writer Tokutomi Soho. Launch sites are split in two: the Yamanaka district uses the lakeshore of Lake Yamanaka, while the Hirano district launches from Yamanakako Misaki. On a clear night the reflection on the lake and Mt. Fuji behind it share one view. Buses run from Fujikyu Fujisan Station (about 30 minutes) or JR Gotemba Station (about 40 minutes), and the village's free and paid lots (paid: 300 yen/day) fill on the day.
