Details for scheduled events will be updated as they are finalized.】The "Oshino Hakkai Festival," held annually on August 8th in Oshino Village, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture, honors the guardian deity "Hachidai Ryuo" of Oshino Hakkai and prays for the peace and prosperity of the village. The festival features Bon Odori dancing, stage events, food stalls, and character shows for children. As night falls, the Hachimonji-yaki bonfire is lit, and the summer evening festival and fireworks display begin. This year, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the village's municipal organization, 3,000 more shells than last year will be launched, totaling 8,888 shells in honor of the number "eight" (hachi).
