Togura Kamiyamada Onsen Summer Festival and Fireworks Display

Summary

Held in the Togura Kamiyamada Onsen district in Chikuma City, Nagano Prefecture. On the first night of the summer festival, a folk dance parade takes place, and on the second day, the spirited young men's mikoshi and brave lion dances parade through the streets, while the powerful Kabuto Taiko drums liven up the festival. Then, on the second night when the festival reaches its climax, approximately 3,000 shells of fireworks are launched, brilliantly illuminating the night sky over the hot spring town.
