Summary
A lake-surface fireworks show on Nojiri in Shinano Town, Nagano, held on July 25 with roots in the mid-Taisho era. About 2,000 shells — underwater and wide star mines among them — rise from the lake for an hour from 7:30 pm, their colors doubled in the water.
Overview
Because the launch sites sit on the lake, reflections spread across the water in every direction. There is no general parking by the venue: visitors are directed to use the paid shuttle from the Kurohime-kogen temporary lot, or come via Kurohime Station (shuttle or taxi, about 15 minutes). Lakeside space fills early, so allow time; food stalls are on site.
