The Asashina Cool Evening Grand Fireworks Display is a major summer event held annually in Saku City, Nagano Prefecture. This year, approximately 2,000 shells of fireworks will illuminate the night sky, captivating all who attend. During the day, the 'Asashina Dondon Festival' is held, featuring a fish-catching contest, Bon Odori dancing, and Nakasendo post-town taiko drum performances — a full program for children and adults alike. In case of stormy weather, daytime events will be cancelled and only the fireworks display will be postponed to Friday, August 21.
