The 103rd Ichida Floating Lanterns Grand Fireworks Festival

Summary

A major event held every year on August 18 since 1923 (Taisho 12), and a summer tradition in Takamori Town. One of the largest fireworks festivals in southern Shinshu in both scale and attendance, with approx. 1000 powerful shells coloring the summer night sky. The lanterns swaying on the surface of the Tenryu River create a magical atmosphere, and the beautiful contrast with the fireworks delights visitors.
