Overview
Uozu's biggest summer event turns the whole town festival-minded for three days. The August 8 sea display counts among the prefecture's largest, with 2,000 shells from Uozu Port doubling themselves on the water. Through the festival days, the Tatemons of the UNESCO-listed Tatemons Festival and the mass Serikomi Choroku dance procession fill the town — traditions shaped by life beside the sea. The port is a 15-minute walk from Uozu Station on the Ainokaze Toyama Railway, or about 10 minutes by car from the Hokuriku Expressway Uozu IC. Free parking covers 400 cars at Ariso Dome.
