The "Hida Togenkyo Kuguno Summer Evening Festival" has long been cherished as a summer tradition of Kuguno. The spectacular display of large star mines and other grand fireworks echoes through the surrounding mountains, with thunderous booms thrilling the audience and drawing large crowds each year. In 2026, as a new initiative, heart-shaped fireworks designed by residents through a public contest will be created and launched, along with "Tanzaku Fireworks" where children's messages and wishes written on strips of paper are attached to 10-gou shells and launched, etching the community's sentiments into the night sky. From 4 PM to 10:30 PM, the center of Kuguno becomes a pedestrian paradise, with local chamber of commerce stalls and various food trucks enlivening the festival.
