Summary

The Kamiyahagi Furusato Festival at the Kamiyahagi Ground in Ena City, Gifu, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, pairs a drone show with fireworks. From 19:30, 300 drones draw patterns of light in the valley sky, after which roughly 1,000 fireworks go up. Ringed by mountains, the venue delivers the sound and the sweep of light directly to spectators, with night stalls and free parking for about 200 cars.

Overview

First come the drones: from 19:30, 300 units fly in formation and sketch glowing motifs over the mountain valley. Then about 1,000 fireworks rise, their sound rebounding off the slopes as light spreads across the gorge — a sense of presence this enclosed setting delivers best. Night stalls add festival flavor around the ground. Reach the venue by bus from Iwamura Station on the Akechi Railway (about 30 minutes; get off at Chugakko-mae and walk 10 minutes), or by car from Ena IC in about 30 minutes, using the free 200-space lot. Program details and the day's schedule are posted on the organizing committee's official website.

Info for International Visitors

Best arrival time

The drone show starts at 19:30, so arriving by around 7 pm — 30 to 45 minutes beforehand — lets you enjoy both the show and the fireworks comfortably.

With kids

The valley venue gets hard to navigate after dark. Agree on a meeting point with your children, and take care moving between the stalls and the viewing area.

Photography tips

You get both a drone show and fireworks, so a tripod and a longer shoot are worthwhile. The dark valley backdrop makes the light patterns stand out.

Payment

Night stalls line the venue. They generally take cash, so carry plenty of small bills and coins.
