The Mugi River flowing through Yamagata City, Gifu Prefecture, is dyed in summer colors by fireworks. The fireworks viewed from the nature of the Mugi River are a summer tradition. At the venue each year, lanterns (andon) illuminate the water surface and the grounds, and visitors can enjoy Bon dancing, treasure hunts, trout catching, stage events, and more. Stalls offering local gourmet and more are also planned. In case of stormy weather, the event will be postponed to the following day, September 14 (Sun).
