Summary
A traditional event held every summer at Atago Shrine in Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Approximately 60 tezutsu (hand-held) fireworks tubes illuminate the shrine grounds. Tezutsu fireworks are held directly by pyrotechnicians and launched amidst a shower of sparks, creating a thrilling spectacle. Atago Shrine enshrines Atago Gongen, known as the deity of fire prevention, and has a deep history cherished by the local community. Food stalls line the area around the shrine, allowing visitors to enjoy the summer festival atmosphere.
