The Kashima Fireworks Festival, boasting a history of approximately 150 years, is held on the Tenryu River riverbed in Tenryu Ward, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka. Although canceled in 2024 due to funding shortages, local volunteers stepped up and made its revival possible. Approx. 4000 shells are launched in total, with the roaring sounds echoing through the mountains and brilliant lights reflecting off the river surface. The program features a variety of displays including star mines and shakudama, living up to its reputation as the largest-scale event in the Enshu region. About 100 food stalls line the venue, bringing back the lively atmosphere of the past. Paid seating is available starting from block seats at ¥1,000, with group and pair seats also available. There is no general parking, but parking is available by advance reservation only for paid seat purchasers. Crowdfunding is also currently underway.
