Summary

The Oigawa Grand Fireworks Festival held in Shimada City, Shizuoka, is a summer tradition that draws many visitors from within and outside the prefecture. Approx. 10000 shells are launched from both banks of the Oi River, a breathtaking spectacle that vividly illuminates the night sky. The Oi River riverbed venue offers wide, unobstructed views, allowing the fireworks to be enjoyed from any direction. The program is packed with highlights, including shakudama shells approximately 30 cm in diameter, rapid-fire star mines, and elaborately crafted creative fireworks.
