The Anjin Festival held in Ito City is the city's largest event, honoring Miura Anjin, who served as a diplomatic advisor to Tokugawa Ieyasu. During this festival, a floating lantern ceremony and fireworks display are held. The 'Matsukawa Ichijo Toro Nagashi' (floating lanterns) takes place from 19:30 on the Matsukawa River flowing through central Ito City, with the lanterns floating fantastically on the water's surface.
