Summary

The Anjin Festival held in Ito City is the city's largest event, honoring Miura Anjin, who served as a diplomatic advisor to Tokugawa Ieyasu. During this festival, a floating lantern ceremony and fireworks display are held. The 'Matsukawa Ichijo Toro Nagashi' (floating lanterns) takes place from 19:30 on the Matsukawa River flowing through central Ito City, with the lanterns floating fantastically on the water's surface. After the lantern ceremony, approximately 800 shells are launched over 10 minutes starting at 20:50, enveloping the night sky and river surface in vibrant light.
