Summary

On 14 August, about 2,000 fireworks are packed into just 30 minutes over Yahwano Port in Ito, Shizuoka — a compact, small-scale show launched from two breakwater points with continuous star mines as its backbone. The name 'Yanmo' comes from the yamamomo trees native to the Izu region. With no venue parking, the plan is to arrive on foot from Izu-Kogen Station, roughly 15 minutes away.

Overview

This is a local harbour festival in Ito on the Izu Peninsula, built around an intense half-hour of fireworks rather than a long programme. Two breakwater points on Yahwano Port serve as launch sites, and the close distance between the water and the viewing edge means the sound arrives as strongly as the light. Viewing is free, with the show scheduled from 20:00 to 20:30. There is no parking around the venue, so visitors come by rail — Izu-Kogen Station is a 15-minute walk away. Because the display is over quickly, time your arrival with some margin; afterwards, the night sea and the open harbour view make an unhurried walk back to the station a pleasant way to end the evening.
