Summary

At the Ota-gawa waterside park in Mori Town, Shizuoka, about 3,000 shells rise over one hour from 19:30 on Saturday, August 15, 2026 for the Mori Noryo Fireworks. Begun some 50 years ago so that families returning home for Obon could spend the holiday together, it stands as the town's summer fixture. The riverbed venue lights up both the water surface and the summer sky. Tenryu-Hamana-ko Railway's Enshu-Mori and Tomata stations are each a 10-minute walk, with bus access from JR Fukuroi Station.

Overview

Held in step with the Obon homecoming season, this Mori Town display has run for about 50 years as a place for ancestral remembrance and family time together. About 3,000 shells fire from the Ota-gawa riverbed across the hour, their reflections closing out the town's summer night, and food stalls round out a full day for all ages. The venue is a 10-minute walk from Tenryu-Hamana-ko Railway Enshu-Mori or Tomata Station, or a 10-minute walk from the Morikawa-bashi stop after the Akiba bus from JR Fukuroi Station. After the finale, temporary buses run from Morikawa-bashi toward Fukuroi Station (20:30–21:10, every 20 minutes). Drivers come about 5 minutes from the Shin-Tomei Mori-Kakegawa IC or the Enshu-Mori smart IC, or 20 minutes from the Tomei Fukuroi IC, with 1,800 parking spaces around town.
