An event held in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture, to hold a memorial service for chopsticks used at Ito Onsen ryokan inns and homes. A memorial tower of stacked chopsticks is set alight to honor the chopsticks. It is cherished as a local traditional event that expresses gratitude while being environmentally conscious. At this event, not only aerial fireworks but also rare tezutsu (hand-held cylinder) fireworks can be seen. From Ito Coast, Approx. 1500 shells of fireworks are launched over 30 minutes, with highlights including diagonally-launched star mines that are unique to seaside fireworks festivals.
