Summary

Atami's long-running sea fireworks series lights up Atami Bay on several evenings between July 20 and August 24, 2026. Each 25-minute show from 20:15 sends up around 5,000 shells over the water, closing with the bay-wide 'Great Sky Niagara'. A tradition since 1952, the summer series draws about 70,000 visitors in total; Atami Station is a 20-minute walk from the waterfront.

Overview

The Summer Atami Marine Fireworks are fired over Atami Bay near the port's quay and fishing-pier area, in several sessions between July 20 and August 24, 2026. Each session runs 20:15–20:40 with about 5,000 shells, and the signature finale, the Great Sky Niagara, pours silver light across the bay and its reflection on the sea. The venue is a 20-minute walk from JR Atami Station along the seaside streets, and crowds converge on the station after each show. Parking is mostly paid — the municipal Higashi lot (300 spaces, 110 yen per 30 minutes) among them — so coming by train is the practical choice. The shows are short, so allow enough time to reach the waterfront before the 20:15 start.
