Summary

The Goyu Summer Festival, the annual festival of Goyu Shrine in Toyokawa City, Aichi Prefecture, runs on Saturday and Saturday, August 1–2, 2026, from 19:00 to 21:30 each evening. Goyu has long been known as a town devoted to fireworks, and on Saturday night hand-held tube fireworks, river fireworks and aerial shells light up the sky along the Otogawa, with more aerial fireworks on Sunday — about 3,000 in all across the two days. During the day, mikoshi and festival floats parade through the streets. The venue is around Higashimikawa Furusato Park, a 10-minute walk from Meitetsu Goyu Station, with a paid 140-car lot near Kokufu Station.

The Goyu Summer Festival is held as the annual festival of Goyu Shrine in Toyokawa City, Aichi Prefecture, on Saturday and Saturday, August 1–2, 2026. In Goyu, a town long known for its love of fireworks, firework displays have taken root as a local tradition. During the day on both days, mikoshi and floats wind through the town; at night, the riverside around Higashimikawa Furusato Park along the Otogawa becomes the venue. On Saturday, hand-held tube fireworks, river fireworks and aerial shells are presented from 19:00, and aerial fireworks rise again from 19:00 on Sunday — about 3,000 in total over the two days. The venue is a 10-minute walk from Goyu Station on the Meitetsu Nagoya Line; by car it is about 10 minutes from the Otowa-Gamagori IC, but parking is in the paid 140-car lot near Kokufu Station, so walking from the station is the easier option. There are no food stalls, so bring whatever you need with you.
