Summary

The Goyu Summer Festival is held on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, 2026 as a festival of Goyu Shrine in Toyokawa City, Aichi Prefecture. The town of Goyu, long known for its love of fireworks, has cherished fireworks as a local tradition deeply rooted in the community. During the daytime on both days, mikoshi (portable shrines) and dashi (floats) parade through the town, building up the festive energy. From 7:00 PM on Saturday the 1st, along the Otowa River, tezutsu fireworks (hand-held cylinder fireworks), river fireworks, and powerful aerial fireworks light up the night sky. On Sunday the 2nd, aerial fireworks are also launched from 7:00 PM, gorgeously illuminating the post-town night.
