Summary

A traditional festival held annually in Tahara, Aichi Prefecture, with a history dating back to the Edo period, deeply reflecting the region's culture and traditions. On the final day of the festival, tezutsu fireworks (hand-held bamboo tube fireworks) and large-cylinder fireworks light up the night sky. During the daytime festivities, visitors can see elaborate floats carrying mechanical dolls, which have been designated as a Tangible Folk Cultural Property by the city. Portable shrines also parade through the city, with the large-cylinder mikoshi procession being particularly spectacular.
