The Nabari River Fireworks Festival, held in Nabari City, Mie Prefecture, began in 1931 (Showa 6), was temporarily suspended during the war, but revived in 1949 (Showa 24) and has been held continuously ever since. Marking its 84th edition in 2026, this historic and traditional fireworks festival is one of the largest events in the region, where the acoustic effects unique to the mountain-surrounded area can be enjoyed.
