The tradition began in 1931, paused in wartime and returned in 1949 without a break since; the mountain-ringed setting bounces the sound of each burst off the surrounding hills. Viewing spreads along the left-bank riverbed, a 15-minute walk from Kintetsu Nabari Station's west exit. Free parking is available at four sites — SNK Asahi Park (350), Nabari Elementary (200), Nabari City Hall (400) and Nabari Central Park (500) — plus paid lots at 1,000 yen per car. Crowds stream toward the station after the finale, so allow time for the trip home.
