Summary

The Oyamada Furusato Summer Festival brings 200 fireworks — 3- to 5-inch shells, starmine runs and kakehanabi set pieces — to the area around Oyamada Seseragi Park in Iga City, Mie, on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The festival opens at 6 p.m. with the display following around 8:30 p.m. A free 200-space lot opens at 6 p.m., and the venue is about 30 minutes by bus from Iga Railway's Ueno City Station.

Overview

The festival is the summer fixture of the Oyamada district, and the park fills with local programming from the 6 p.m. opening before the sky takes over at about 8:30 p.m. The 200-shell program leans on 3- to 5-inch shells, starmine runs and kakehanabi set pieces. In case of bad weather, only the fireworks are postponed — confirm the makeup date with the organizer. The venue is 30 minutes by Mie Kotsu bus (Shirutsuke-bound) from Ueno City Station (2-minute walk from Miyanomae stop) or about 15 minutes by car from Nakase IC on the Meihan National Route. Note there are no food stalls, so bring your own.

Info for International Visitors

Best arrival time

Aim to be around the park 30–45 minutes before the launch (about 7:45–8 p.m.). A free 200-space lot opens at 6 p.m. The venue is about 30 minutes by bus from Ueno City Station (2-minute walk from the Miyanomae stop). The festival itself gets going at 6 p.m.

With kids

The venue around Seseragi Park sits near water and park facilities — keep an eye on the kids. The bursts ring out loudly, so ear protection is a good idea.

Photography tips

Starmine runs and set pieces fire in succession, so burst mode comes in handy. Foregrounding the park trees or filling the frame with sky gives two very different moods.

Payment

Viewing is free with no paid seats. No food stalls are set up — bring what you need. Parking: 200 free spaces from 6 p.m.
