A fireworks festival that concludes the 'Waraji Festival,' held in Shima City, Mie Prefecture, and designated as an intangible cultural property. During the festival, the sacred ritual of 'Waraji-hiki' (straw sandal pulling) is performed by local children dressed as shrine attendants, after which the sandals are carried to the beach and released into the sea to pray for maritime safety and a bountiful catch.
