Konan City Summer Festival 2026

Summary

At the summer festival held annually on the first Saturday of August in Konan City, Shiga Prefecture, fireworks color the night sky at the finale. The festival starts at 16:00, with various stage events including a Daisui watermelon speed-eating contest, traditional performing arts 'Goshu Ondo', and 'Kokoku Junibo Taiko' drumming. The venue is Yasu River Waterfront Park, with approx. 40 stalls offering food and drinks. In case of stormy weather, the event (including fireworks) will be canceled with no postponement. A 'Fireworks Launch Donation Box' is set up at the venue headquarters tent, accepting support from visitors.
